You are the expert of you.
I just have some handy tools to help us along the way.

Psychotherapy
Or “talk therapy,” is a collaborative journey of self-exploration meant to foster personal growth and change. Together we will identify and untangle your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they affect one another and your well-being. We will also explore your history to unpack how past relationships and experiences have contributed to your current challenges with the goal of making life today a little less stressful. It would be my privilege to earn your trust, bear witness, and support your journey toward healing.
Survivors of Suicide Loss
The loss of a loved one to suicide is one of the most painful experiences imaginable. Not only are you dealing with the overwhelming emotions typically associated with grief, but your brain is likely also trying to sort through guilt, violence, shock, and devastation that your loved one was in so much pain. As a survivor of suicide loss myself, I know how essential it is to have a place to process all of this suffering. We will sit with the darkness and find a way to move forward—not move on, we never move on from our loved ones—together.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) is an evidence-based trauma therapy that can allow you to face your most painful moments in a supportive environment. After determining this type of treatment is right for you, we will build up your internal resources and coping skills so it feels as safe as possible to do this work. We will then work to desensitize from those painful experiences and reprocess them with a more empowering narrative.
Self-compassion
We often treat ourselves so harshly. Perhaps this began as a way to motivate yourself, using critical self-talk like, “how could you have been so stupid?” or “stop being so lazy and get your work done.” Research shows self-criticism does not actually motivate us to do better. Self-compassion and kindness does! You may not feel ready or deserving enough to treat yourself with kindness, but we will work together to build that capacity and foster the tenderness you deserve.
Grief Counseling
Grief is all-encompassing of the mind, body, and spirit. It is also so inherently lonely—you should not have to carry that burden alone. To experience the devastating loss of a loved one requires the most safe and nurturing place to navigate a new and terrifying world, and I am passionate about providing this. Everyone experiences grief in a unique way so my approach is individually-tailored, spending each session tending to your specific needs on that day and in that moment.
Mindfulness Meditation
Anxiety often presents as worry about the future. Depression often manifests as a preoccupation with the past or our perceived shortcomings. Mindfulness allows us a brief respite to focus on the present moment, withholding judgment as much as possible. Mindfulness allows us the freedom to separate from our thoughts, becoming independent observers of them and not taking them all as fact. If you are interested, we can integrate this practice into our work.
